1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Founded ("Founded," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Founded mobile application (the "App") and the website at foundedapp.com (the "Site"). Founded is operated by Russell Creative Group, LLC. By using the App or Site, you agree to this Policy.
2. Information we collect
Information stored on your device
Most of what you do in Founded stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. This includes your reading history, saved highlights and notes, favorites, daily reminder settings, and in-app preferences. If you delete the App, this information is removed from your device.
Subscription and purchase information
When you start a free trial or purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through in-app purchase. We do not receive or store your credit card number or payment details. We receive limited, Apple-provided information (such as a transaction identifier and subscription status) needed to verify your subscription and unlock premium features.
Notifications
If you enable daily reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. Enabling reminders does not send any data to us. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Diagnostics and usage data
We may collect limited, aggregated, and non-identifying diagnostic and usage information (for example, crash reports and anonymous feature-usage statistics) to keep the App stable and improve it. Where this data is collected through Apple or a service provider, it is handled in accordance with their applicable terms. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
Communications
If you contact us for support or otherwise, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message, and we will use them solely to respond to you.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app tracking for advertising.
- We do not collect your precise geolocation, contacts, photos, or microphone data.
- We do not require you to create an account or provide your name to read the daily devotional.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (see Section 10).
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and secure the App and its features;
- Verify and manage your subscription and free trial;
- Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the App;
- Respond to your support requests; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are the performance of our contract with you (providing the App and subscription), our legitimate interests (keeping the App secure and improving it), your consent (for example, notifications), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Subscriptions & payments
Founded offers an auto-renewable subscription with a free trial. All billing is handled by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are governed by Apple and by our Terms of Service. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. We do not have access to your payment method and cannot charge you directly.
6. How information is shared
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Apple: to process purchases, subscriptions, and (if enabled) diagnostics, under Apple's privacy policy.
- Service providers: vendors who help us operate the App and Site (such as hosting, analytics, or crash reporting), bound to use information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data retention
Information stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Subscription and support records are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law (for example, for tax and accounting).
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because most of your data stays on your device, protecting your device (with a passcode and up-to-date software) is an important part of keeping it private.
9. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because most information is stored locally, you can exercise many of these rights directly by managing or deleting your data in the App, or by deleting the App.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

10. Children's privacy
Founded is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users
Founded is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
12. Third-party content
Scripture quotations in the App are from the Holy Bible, New International Version (NIV). Photography is provided via Pexels. These materials are subject to their own licenses and terms and do not collect personal information through the App.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
